Letter to Host family

 

  Hello. My name is Emi. My birthday is in August and I’m 19 years old. I’m from Chiba, Japan but I was born in Kumamoto, Japan. I live in Kumamoto city now. I like drawing pictures, watching animated cartoons, taking a walk, listening to music, reading books and comics. Incidentally, I like weekly comics.

  I also like singing songs. Whenever I have nothing to do, I go to karaoke alone near my house and I sing between 3 to 6 hours. I always sing Aika Yosioka, Mai Kuraki, Ayaka and animated cartoons.

 

  I teach myself Italian recently because I was interested in it and the echoes of certain animated cartoon. I usually borrow books of Italy from library. I’m be able to speak it a little. Finally, I’d like to go there.

  I belonged to drama club when I was a high school student. I’ve worked actively behind the scenes as a sound mixer, and then play the leading character. Mainly, I played in school festival, contests and independently performance. It was fun for me to play. However, it was very difficult for me to memorize my lines.

 

  I’m good at typing and Shorinjikenpo. When I was an elementary student, I began learning Shorinjikenpo: it is a martial art that was launched by Mr. So and the original version was Shorinken. I saw my elder sister doing it and I was very interested. I participated in contests once, and I was once the winner of a prize and a medal. They are in keeping safe now.

 

  There are five people in my family: father, mother, elder sister, younger brother and me. My father is in the Japanese Self-Defense Forces and he likes alcohol very much. My mother works as a part-timer in a music room. My elder sister works as a sheriff. Therefore, she lives in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan. She and I dislike each other. My younger is a junior high school student who belongs to the table tennis club. He is taller than me.

 

  I’m working part-time as a clerk in a convenience store. I always work 4 times a week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. I work 5 times a week or 6 times a week once in a while. It has been one year since I began to work. I’m going to continue my work until I start looking for a job.

    
   I want to teach English at my alma mater. First of all, I have to get an English proficiency examination. Second, I must study harder and increase my vocabulary. Finally, I would like to travel abroad someday. For example, I want to go in America, England, Australia and New Zealand.
