Emi's post (rewrite: hometown introduction)

I’m going to tell you about my hometown introduction. I have two hometowns to introduce: One in Chiba, Japan and one in Kumamoto, Japan.

First, I lived in Chiba, Japan when I was an elementary school student. Talking of Chiba, there is Tokyo Disney Land where a lot of people visit every day. Then, there are a lot of special products: introducing pears, peanuts, turnips and the other vegetables. There were many pears around the house where I lived. When I had free time, I often picked them. Incidentally, I went to a pear field as a part of moral education when I was in the first grade, It was fun though it was too difficult for me to get the pears. They are too tasty. I want to eat them again someday. In addition, there are many residential areas and shops so it is convenient to buy various things. Traffic is also heavy. Chiba people speak the standard Japanese.

On the other hand, Kumamoto people speak in dialect. Kumamoto Japanese is very unique. When I moved here in the fourth grade, I was surprised and was not able to understand what they said. After two years, I was finally able to understand them. Speaking of Kumamoto, there is Kumamoto Castle in the city. I like to go there in the spring because the cherry trees are very beautiful every year. Kumamoto is also famous for Mt. Aso which is the biggest calderas in the world. There are a lot of people, who look forward to visiting or climbing in Mt. Aso. Furthermore, Aso city is cooler than Kumamoto city. Kumamoto is also famous for basashi which is sliced raw fish of horse meat, water and lotus roots with mustard, which is called karashirenkon. The water is so good and clear. When I moved here about ten years ago, I was so moved when I found out how delicious the water was.

I like both my hometowns. Thank you for your reading.
